The UK is partnering with Bolivia, Ecuador, Guyana and Peru, under the Amazon Regional Fund to address key drivers of deforestation, by accelerating action on climate change and sustainable growth through the UK PACT Programme.
To deliver on climate and nature objectives, UK PACT funding has been prioritised for the Amazon biome with the objective of halting and reversing forest loss and land degradation by 2030.
The fund works currently in Bolivia, Ecuador, Guyana and Peru to address the key drivers of deforestation, by delivering projects which are primarily climate change mitigation focused, but also demonstrating climate change resilience and adaptation co-benefits where relevant.
In the near future, the Amazon Regional Fund will look to address more key sectors to accelerate climate transitions, such as renewable energies and green finance, and may consider expanding into further countries.
The Amazon Regional Fund Agriculture, Forests and Other Land-Use (AFOLU) sector Call for Proposals is now live.
The deadline for submitting EOIs was on 20 September 2024 at 23:59 UTC. Only shortlisted applicants will progress to stage-two and be invited to submit a full proposal.

UK PACT (Partnering for Accelerated Climate Transitions) is a unique capacity-building programme. Jointly governed and funded by the UK Government’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) through the UK's International Climate Finance, it works in partnership with countries with high emissions reduction potential to support them to implement and increase their ambitions for tackling climate change.
