Vietnam-UK PACT

UK PACT is partnering with Vietnam to tackle climate change and promote low-carbon development in the country.

The UK is committed to supporting Vietnam’s climate ambitions through the Vietnam-UK PACT fund. The programme aims to build capacity, share expertise, and foster collaboration between the UK and Vietnam to achieve significant climate action.

Vietnam-UK PACT works in three sectors:
  • Energy: strengthening capacity to support commitments under the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP).
  • Agriculture: promoting low-carbon agricultural practices and supporting sustainable agricultural value chains.
  • Green finance: supporting the development of financial systems and instruments to mobilise investments in low-carbon projects.
UK PACT has worked closely with government stakeholders and technical experts to identify impactful projects in energy, low-emission agriculture and green finance. These efforts build on previous UK PACT initiatives, including knowledge-sharing workshops and expert deployments, to accelerate Vietnam’s net-zero ambitions and sustainable economic growth.

In the energy sector, UK PACT is driving innovation in grid management, coal transition and regulatory frameworks. In agriculture, the programme is advancing low-carbon rice farming, carbon market mobilisation, and circular economy models. UK PACT is also supporting green finance projects through its first round of funding and you can read more about our work below.
